Respondents who participated in the study were divided into two groups. The first group was given grapefruit juice with meals, while the other drank water. They consumed equal amount of food, and after three months, those who drank the grapefruit juice gained weight by about 20 percent less than the other group. Tests have shown that people who gained less weight also had reduced blood sugar levels and the conclusion was that grapefruit acted preventive against diabetes as well.
