When summer comes along, white shoes seem to be everyone’s favorite. But, you’ll agree that keeping them white can be a true challenge. If your white shoes have lost their whiteness, and you’ve been failing miserably to restore it, don’t worry. Here, we recommend the best natural solution to make your white shoes white again.
This simple trick is very simple, yet incredibly efficient. All you need is a couple of common ingredients – baking soda and white vinegar (you probably already have these in your kitchen cabinet !). Both baking soda and white vinegar are amazing beaching properties on fabrics, including those used for making shoes. In addition, these 2 ingredients come packed with powerful anti-bacterial properties, meaning they also destroy the bacteria and fungi in your shoes. You should know that bacteria and fungi cause the bad odor.
What you need:
- ½ cup white vinegar (125ml)
- ¼ cup of baking soda (60g)
- 1 brush
Directions:
Start by mixing the baking soda and white vinegar. Mix until you get a foamy mixture then get your brush and rub this on your shoes. Let it act for half an hour then rinse off with cold water.
Don’t forget the shoe laces
Now, you won’t get the desired effect if you forget to wash your shoe laces. But, the good news is you can easily wash them in your washing machine. Just, have in mind to put them in a pillow case or a washing bag to prevent tangling with other clothes.
