Due to increased perspiration and heat during the summer, your private parts need better and more careful hygienic care. Therefore follow these 4 hygiene rules about “down there” in order to be relaxed and enjoy the warm summer days.
1. Use soap without scent
Thanks to the vagina’s ability to clean itself, it would be best if you just wash it with plain water. But if you want to use something else, use only neutral soap, or the one with no aroma. The vagina shouldn’t be washed from the inside because in that way healthy bacteria are removed as well which protect your body against sexually transmitted diseases, inflammation and other infections. If you have an unpleasant vaginal odor, immediately contact your gynecologist.
2. Carefully select your underwear
Panties from lace, satin and synthetics should be avoided during the entire summer. These materials retain the moisture which is the common cause of fungal infections. The best choice for summer panties are those made of 100% cotton because it allows the skin to breathe and does not retain moisture. Also, avoid wearing clothing that is wet from exercising or wet bathing suits after swimming.
3. Use high-quality intimate wipes
Always keep a packet of intimate wet wipes. Buy those wipes that are fully natural, that do not contain alcohol and are biodegradable.
4. Treatment of ingrown hairs
One of side effects of waxing is the possibility of having ingrown hairs that no woman wants in her bikini area. To prevent their occurrence, make skin peeling 2 days after waxing. Use peeling that contains only natural ingredients, and after applying it on a dry skin, apply a product against internal hairs aimed to calm the skin and reduce their further occurrence.
If they still occur, do not try to remove them. Bacteria on your hands can do more harm than good, so that will put you at high risk of infection and scarring.
