If you want to reduce belly size then it is time to stop doing some things right now!
You may have bloated belly because there is an excess air trapped in your digestive tract or too much drink. It may be because you love beef steak. But it is not important whether it is due to fat or it is just bloated; reduce the size with these simple tips:
Eating too fast
When you eat too fast then you swallow gas-producing air which increases the belly size. And this is not a lie. You feel bloated usually because of trapped air. It also slows down the digestive process. Stephanie Middleberg, a nutritionist from New York explains why does this happen: “When you eat in a rush, you don’t chew thoroughly, and that leads to larger food pieces sitting in your gut, waiting to be fully digested. It also makes you lose track of how much you’ve eaten and in the long run you have eaten more than you should”.
So eat slowly if you want to reduce belly size.
Soda addiction
Soda drinks are refreshing and tasty and many people love drinking these beverages. But Middleberg claims that those tiny bubbles are responsible for your big and bloated stomach. Even the diet sodas have the same effect, actually they are even worst. They contain artificial sweeteners which cannot be digested properly so they cause stomach bloating.
Reduce soda intake if you can’t stop it. Or put ice cubes in it and wait for a while before you drink it.
You love packaged foods
Excessive sodium intake is bad for your overall health and belly. Packed foods contain a great amount of sodium. It is the main ingredient used for preserving processed foods. Chips is among these foods. Even foods which we think are healthy as cereals, salad dressings, soups contain a great amount of sodium.
Janet Brill, PhD, RD, a Philadelphia-area nutritionist and author of Blood Pressure Down warns people “it’s a good bet that pretty much any product that comes wrapped in a package contains more sodium than you’d think, and you’re unlikely to even taste the salt.”
Stop buying processed stuff and try consuming natural products. Fresh fruits, grains, and veggies are usually sodium-free.
Eating close to bedtime
When do you usually have your dinner? If you consume it an hour or two before going to bed then you will probably wake up with bigger stomach in the morning. So you must stop with this unhealthy habit immediately!
Alissa Rumsey, RD, a spokesperson for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Claims that lying down immediately after eating prevents your body to digest the food properly. This is because when you sleep you need less energy unlike when you re awake.
Eat your dinner at least three to four hours before you go to bed, or eat a piece of fruit or yogurt if you must go to bed immediately after “dinner.” Just consume a bigger meal in the morning.
It’s just a small food allergy is part of your excuse
Many people suffer from food allergies and maybe you are one of them. Some allergies cause bloating. People who suffer from wheat allergy cannot digest gluten which leads to problems with digestion. These problems are connected with bloating and increased belly size. These symptoms also occur in people who are lactose intolerant.
Go to your doctor and run some tests on food allergies and sensitivities. If you suffer from allergy, avoid those types of food.
