Are These White Spots On Your Nails Dangerous Sometimes YES!!!

If you wonder what those white spots on the nails are, find out the answer. In fact, most white spots or stains are caused by air bubbles trapped under the nail.

White spots called leukonychia can occur in several forms. Usually they occur because of minor injuries to the base of the nail.

They can be hereditary, but in some cases may indicate medical problems.

So your nails can warn you that it is time to see your doctor. White spots on the nails can appear due to warts and fungus (onychomycosis) or psoriasis and eczema, which can affect the nails. White spots on the nails may be one of the few signs of the disease known as sarcoidosis which affects the skin, lungs and other organs. When the nail is soft and has white spots, it is a condition known as “plummer’s nails” which may indicate hyperthyroidism.

When the white line is lower on the nail, it means that the disease appeared recently.

The appearance of horizontal white lines all over the nail can indicate cardiac arrest, Hodgkin’s disease, malaria, and even leprosy.

If you notice two white horizontal narrow stripes in one or more of the nails, it is a sign of hypoalbuminemia, a medical condition where blood levels of albumin are extremely low. This disorder can be caused by various acute and chronic medical conditions, such as: kidney disease, liver cirrhosis, heart failure and irregular diet. But don’t worry, because in most cases those lines appear due to inflammatory response to infection or injury.

Do not ignore these changes because they are health-related, and more than you think. From time to time check their condition and protect your health before it is too late.
