Blackberry liqueur is a sweet dark alcoholic drink that is popular in the households of our region. In addition to blackberry wine and juice, it is another blackberry drink that contains some of the beneficial properties of this favorite summer fruit. The preparation recipes include several basic ingredients, namely fresh blackberries, brandy and sugar, while other ingredients are added to taste and slight variations are made in the preparation. The following are some recipes for homemade blackberry liqueur.

Homemade blackberry liqueur – The preparation of the basic recipe for homemade blackberry liqueur is simple and does not require much effort, and the perfect homemade dark fruit liqueur is obtained. The following is required for preparation:

  • 1 kg of blackberries
  • ½ kg of sugar
  • 1 l of grape brandy

First, wash the blackberries well and carefully dry them, preferably with the help of absorbent paper or a towel. Then put them in a jar for preparing liqueur and mix with sugar. Pour the mixture with brandy, preferably homemade brandy, then close the jar tightly and leave it in a sunny place for about five to six weeks, shaking the jar occasionally, so that the sugar dissolves as evenly as possible. After that, strain the finished liqueur into bottles and store in a dark place. It is best to let them stand for at least another month, as this way the aroma of the liqueur will be fully expressed.

Aromatic blackberry with red wine – As wine is also made from blackberries, blackberry liqueur acquires a completely new and luxurious aroma when table red wine is added to it. The liqueur will have an even richer aroma and an enticing dark color. With the addition of vanilla, it gets an even more interesting taste, and the result is a sweet aperitif that everyone will enjoy. The required ingredients are:

  • 1 kg of blackberries
  • ½ kg of sugar
  • 1 liter of red wine
  • 5 dl of homemade brandy
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 3 bags of vanilla sugar
  • 5 cloves

Wash and dry the blackberries and put them in a cooking pot. Add wine, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla sugar and cloves and cook everything together until it boils, then another fifteen minutes. Then remove from heat and cool to room temperature. When it becomes lukewarm, strain the liquid and pour in homemade brandy and mix well. Pour the finished liqueur into bottles and store in a dark place. It can be consumed immediately, but the aroma will be even better when it stands for a while.

Blackberry liqueur with rum and vanilla – In addition to homemade brandy and wine, blackberry liqueur can also be prepared with rum. The sweet taste of this drink will enhance the aroma of the liqueur and give it a special note, with a little vanilla. The required ingredients are:

  • 400 g of blackberries
  • 150 g of brown sugar
  • 7 dl of rum
  • 1 stick of vanilla

Wash the blackberries and lightly crush them. Finely chop the vanilla. Then put blackberries, vanilla and sugar in a preparation jar and add rum. Shake occasionally, so that the sugar melts completely and the ingredients release their aroma. After that, strain the finished liqueur and pour it into bottles.
