A young boy named Lendon Riddle had been diagnosed with leukemia when he was just 2 years old. He was told by his doctors that he had 8-10% chances to survive past the first 48 hours of chemo and radiation.
His mother Sierra Riddle spoke up about the devastating news they received from the doctors and explained their fight for Landon’s life: “His whole chest was full of leukemia tumors, which is why he couldn’t breathe. They started him on chemo, but told us that he probably wasn’t going to make it.”
After 2 months of chemo the little boy completely lost his appetite, started vomiting up to 50 times a day which only made him weaker and made the whole situation worse. The parents didn’t know what to do and decided to continue with the treatment, hoping things will turn to better. Things were not looking good for Landon until someone suggested they try cannabis oil therapy. They had heard about this but hadn’t thought about the idea more thoroughly and after looking a bit deeper into the matter decided to give it a go.
“We discussed all of our concerns with his medical team in Utah and watched Landon continue to suffer and wither away as the piled on drug after drug. Then my mother came across cannabis oil online,” Riddle told RYOT
They decided to go to Colorado, a state which approves the use of cannabis oil for medical purposes and try the treatment. Surprisingly, in just a few days Landon started vomiting less and less and he started regaining his appetite. He was starting to look like his old self again, being the happy little boy he used to be.
Sierra started a personal blog explaining her ordeal hoping it may help someone else in a similar situation. She wrote:
“Our hearts were filled with joy that cannabis brought back the smile to Landon’s face. Landon started getting better and better! It was as if a miracle had happened! He was smiling again and started to eat again!”
“It is atrocious that anyone on the planet would be charged for choosing cannabis over pharmaceuticals. My heart goes out to Adam Koessler and Rumor Rose, along with uncountable other families that are affected by cannabis prohibition.
Get ready for the fight of your life. Having a sick child is a battle in itself, but making this choice is a whole new world. You’re going to need thick skin, intuition, and a solid team. Don’t waste time making sure every other pharmaceutical does more harm than good. If it feels wrong in your gut, it’s probably wrong.”
