Because of the nutrients it contains, avocado is also known as super-food. But a very few people know that the seeds are actually more healthy than the flesh or the skin. These are some of the most important benefits of avocado seed:

Antioxidants:  Researchers from the Pennsylvania State University have proven that avocado seed contains more than 70% of the phenolic antioxidants found in the whole avocado fruit. These antioxidants are important for reducing cholesterol levels. But there is more. By consuming the seed you will reduce the high blood pressure, reduce the inflammations and the risk of getting diabetes. We also know that antioxidants improve your immune system.

Good for the Heart: The seed has anti-inflammatory properties. If you consume avocado seed you will prevent plaque buildup in your arteries and in this way you will reduce the risk of a stroke and heart attack.

Anti-Inflammatory and Others: The avocado seed also helps people who suffer from arthritis. It helps in alleviating joint pain. It also reduces the risk of cancer and various inflammations. This seed  contains anti- microbial, fungicidal and insecticidal properties as well.

Digestion Improvement: A lot of people in South America use avocado seeds against various digestive problems like dysentery and gastric ulcers.

Fiber:  These seeds also contain soluble fiber and not only that, it is actually richer than any other vegetable. Soluble fiber is important for lowering the cholesterol level and blood pressure.

After you have read all the facts about the avocado seed, you won’t throw it again for sure. Here is how you can consume avocado seeds:

Prepare the following:

  • ½ avocado seed
  • Four apples
  • One banana
  • Two lemons, peel removed
  • One cup of spinach
  • One bunch of parsley
  • ¼ ginger
  • One stalk of celery

After you have bought all the ingredients follow the steps below:

  1. Blend the seed until it turns into fine powder.
  2. Divide the ground seed into two equal portions.
  3. Blend all the ingredients until you get a smooth mixture. Do not use the other portion of the ground seed. Keep it for later use. You just need half of it for one serving.

This mixture is sweet and sour and is rich in antioxidants and health benefits!
