It helps control diabetes

Eggplant is known as a great tool for controlling diabetes. Recent studies have confirmed that a diet rich in eggplant is extremely beneficial for the regulation of blood sugar levels due to the high concentration of fiber.

It regulates body weight

Eggplant is low in carbohydrates and fat, and contains only 20 calories per piece. It is rich in fiber, which contributes to a longer feeling of satiety. According to research, the chlorogenic acid found in this vegetable stimulates fat burning.

All of this makes eggplant a great ally in the fight against excess weight.

It treats indigestion

The bitter compounds in eggplant are responsible for soothing stomach spasms and other gastric and intestinal problems.

The high amount of fiber in eggplant protects the digestive tract and helps maintain the function and health of the entire digestive system.

It lowers cholesterol levels

The chlorogenic acid helps in reducing the LDL (bad) cholesterol levels while increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels.

Nasunin also has great importance because it helps prevent formation of bad cholesterol.

It slows tumor growth

According to research, nasunin, an antioxidant found in the eggplant skin has a cosiderable role in the prevention and spread of cancer. A study published in 2005 in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry confirms that nasunin effectively prevents a process called angiogenesis, thus helping to curb the spread of tumor cells. Plus, the chlorogenic acid is extremely efficient against free radicals, which are a common cause of cancer.

It protects against viruses

Health experts confirm that thanks to the antiviral properties of chlorogenic acid, eggplant can help prevent and treat many diseases caused by viruses.
