Healthy and beautiful hair is very important as it can make or break an outfit. In order to achieve this, the hair needs constant maintenance. People usually spend a lot of money in the salon to have voluminous hair.

But are you aware that salon is not the only place you can get shiny, strong and beautiful hair? The content in your fridge can help you to achieve the same result. If you are consuming the right food and you are getting the important nutrients, your hair will look great. Healthy foods rich in various vitamins will help in maintaining your hair healthy. To conclude, your diet affects your hair growth. If you consume unhealthy and greasy foods you will have greasy and unhealthy hair. So you must choose what you eat if you want to have beautiful hair.

Foods That Keep Your Hair Healthy

Below you can find several healthy foods which will improve your hair:

  1. Carrots

Carrots are rich in vitamin A which will make your hair healthy. Human scalp produces sebum, natural oil which is very important as it protects the hair from chemicals and harmful toxins. It also hydrates the scalp and Vitamin A helps in producing sufficient amount of sebum.

  1. Spinach

This amazing food is rich in minerals and vitamins important for hair health. It contains fatty acids, calcium, potassium and iron which are very important for maintaining healthy hair. Fresh spinach contains more nutrients but if you want it cooked then cook it on low temperature so it would retain all of its beneficial nutrients.

  1. Red meat

Red meat is rich in iron and zinc which accelerate the hair growth and also keep the hair strong. Dermatologists claim that people should consume red meat twice a week to get the required iron and zinc intake. Also consume foods rich in vitamin C like oranges for example, to improve the iron absorption.

  1. Oats

Oats are proven to be one of the most effective foods for hair growth. Every important nutrient important for hair growth is contained in oats. It is rich in B vitamins, copper, protein and zinc. Consume oats for breakfast if you want to be energetic and have shiny hair.

  1. Salmon

Foods rich in omega 3 fatty acids like salmon and mackerel are proven to be great for healthy scalp and strong locks. Omega 3 keeps the follicles intact and creates protective cover around hair shaft. It will also hydrate your hair and make it less dry and frizzy.

Green peas are rich in Vitamin C, protein and beta-carotene so if you consume green peas you will have healthy hair.

Include the foods mentioned above in your everyday diet and avoid unhealthy habits like smoking or drinking excessive amounts of alcohol which will make your hair dry and damaged.
