How to Get Rid of Pimples Knowing Their Location

February 8, 2019 by Valerie Kirwin

While getting pimples is a normal, everyday skin condition that affects all of us at one time or another, having them is painful as well as embarrassing.  For most people, pimples are but a reflection of skin irritation that stems from an infection of the oil-producing glands in the skin.  In most cases, the glands become irritated somehow and simply begin to produce too much oil, which leads to a saturation of the gland.  This excess oil traps bacteria normally found on the skin and causes the infection and the resulting pus production.

While most people believe that using harsh chemicals, vigorous mechanical scrubbing and even physician supervised skin peels and laser treatments are the best way to treat occasional pimples, oftentimes these treatments just aggravate the problem and make matters worse.

Before you explore ways to get rid of pimples, it’s important to know their position.

This map will show you where pimples appear most and how you can prevent their breakout by knowing their location.

How to Get Rid of Pimples Knowing Their Location

  1. Pimples on your nose and forehead

Reason: Stress

Busy and stressful days stimulate extra adrenaline secretion, which leads to increased secretion of fat cells in the T-zone resulting in the breakout of pimples.

What to do?

The most important thing you can do in this case is wash your face twice a day. And if you know that a stressful day is ahead of you, start it with a thorough cleaning of your face.

  1. Pimples on your cheeks

Cause: Bacteria and dust

As a general rule, when you frequently touch your face with your hands, you place more bacteria on it, thus making it more susceptible to their inflammatory effects.

What to do?

Always carry antibacterial wet wipes with you and clean your face with them regularly.

  1. Pimples on your chin, jaw and neck

Reason: Menstrual cycle

Your menstrual cycle brings about many hormonal changes as well as increased fat production by the glands. This fat clogs the pores on your skin causing pimples to appear in these parts of your face.

What to do?

The best thing to do is start cleaning your face a few days before your period. Cleaners based on benzoyl peroxide are especially recommended.

  1. Pimples on your hair roots

Reason: Hair products

Hair products contain fat components that travel up your hair all the way to the roots thus causing clogging of pores.

What to do?

Most importantly, wash your hands before you touch your hair. Also, avoid hair-styling products. Change your shampoo in case you notice increased breakout of pimples.

  1. Pimples on your lips

Reason: Nutrition

Some citric acids can irritate your skin leading to its inflammation. Fattening foods also cause clogging of pores and breakout of pimples.

What to do?

Clean your face thoroughly or wipe your lips with wet wipes after each meal. You can also use lip balm more often.
