How to Survive the Allergy Season?

The spring has begun; wherever you look you can see trees with new leaves, beautiful flowers and birds sending the winter away with their songs. But if you suffer from allergies, spring is not so lovely picture for you – in fact, it looks more like a nightmare from which you could not escape. The next few months will be difficult, so please read these few tips that will help you in the battle against allergies.

How to Survive the Allergy Season

Keep the windows closed

The most important rule to help yourself is to keep the cause of the allergy as far away from you. The best way to succeed in this intention is if the windows and doors of your home remain closed.

Although you may be attracted by the warm weather and fresh air, wait at least until the most unfavorable period of spring passes and then let a little fresh air in your home.

Use air fresheners

Allergies are worse in drier climates where there is not enough rain to defeat the causes of allergies in the air. But just because it’s dry out, does not necessarily mean that it should be dry inside. Try to help yourself with a device that will bring freshness in your home.

But be careful with its use. Although a little bit fresh air can help you, if you use it too often you could cause mold growth, which also negatively affects allergies.

Bye an air cleaner

Another way in which you can help yourself in allergies season is to buy an air cleaner. It shall remove the dust and other causes of allergies from the air which you inhale. For greater effect, use it in the bedroom. Or, if you work from home use it where you spend the most of the day.

If the air is clean your body needn’t fight with allergies, thereby enabling you greater peace and easing your nose discomfort.

Try neti pot

This method for dealing with allergies may seem more frightening. However, who would feel comfortable with the fact that you have to enter water into one nasal hole so it would come out from the other? It can create a feeling of choking, which feeling anyone would rather avoid.

But if you can use to the way in which these functions, you will see that it is not so bad. The warm water causes a feeling of relief in inflamed nasal pathways and it destroys effectively the allergies causes. Do not forget the fact that in the salted water there are no chemicals or unnatural substances that cause unpleasant hostile effects.

Drink apple cider vinegar

It is believed that apple cider vinegar has a contribution in preserving health (such as maintaining a stable sugar level in diabetics, lowering blood pressure and cholesterol,  helps even in the fight against cancer), but it  also helps in fighting allergies. How?

If you drink a teaspoon of pure vinegar, what will happen? Your eyes begin to water and sinuses will be purified. All these things help in expelling the causes of allergies out of your body.

Drink a lot of water

One of the best things you can do during a season of allergies is to drink plenty of water. The more water you drink, the more mucus your body can make. And of course, the more mucus you have, the better chance you’ll have to win the battle with the everyday allergies.

Let your aim be about 6-8 glasses of water daily. If you’re used to drinking clean water in larger amounts, then add strained lemon or orange in it.

Eat spicy and / or warm food

Spicy food works in a similar way as apple vinegar. Make sure you food is chilly in a way that you’ll require handkerchiefs while eating.

As it is already mentioned, the more you clean your nose, the better it will be for you. This way of dealing with allergies is not only natural and effective but also you have the results immediately.

Visit a doctor

If you have tried everything but nothing helped you, it may be the time to visit your doctor. Find out if you need specialized treatment to prevent worsening of your allergies, or it is some kind of infection.

Allergies can be very annoying and troublesome, but there are many things that we can do to ease our condition. Try some of these tips today and tomorrow it might be easier to breathe.
