If Women Knew About This Plant, They Won’t Have To Go To The Gynecologist Too Often!

February 8, 2019 by Valerie Kirwin

Gynecological problems which can range from minor to more severe are extremely common among women. Often, these health issues are the result of bacteria, virus or, in the worst case, tumors.

Fortunately, scientists have recently shed new light on a common plant that proves to be extremely beneficial for improving a woman’s vaginal health.

If Women Knew About This Plant, They Won’t Have To Go To The Gynecologist Too Often!

Lady’s mantle (lat. Alchemilla vulgaris), but also called virak, rabbit’s foot, lion’s foot and Agile Frog, has amazing medicinal properties, especially in relation to gynecological health. Surprisingly, this plant has been used since the Middle Ages. Today, it’s been identified as a universal natural remedy for a number of diseases. According to the famous Swiss herbalist Johan Kincora, 30% of all gynecological problems can be avoided just by consuming Lady’s mantle tea.

When using Lady’s mantle for medicinal purposes, you should only collect the leaves and flowers or the flowering plant as the root has no health benefits. The best time to harvest the leaves is in July and August, but you can collect them in spring as well. Have in mind that the leaves lose some of their healing effects after blooming.

Lady’s mantle is rich in flavonoids, organic acids, tannins, salicylic acid and a real storehouse of vitamin C. Because of its high tannin content, this plant has a bitter taste. Tannins also provide the strong anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

It’s the ideal plant for getting pregnant

While it’s true that most of its medicinal properties have not yet been scientifically proven, lady’s mantle is considered the best natural remedy for treating infertility. The thing is, it acts as an excellent natural regulator of hormones. One of the two female hormones, progesterone, regulates the menstrual cycle, which is extremely important when trying to conceive. Plus, Lady’s mantle strengthens the uterine wall thus protecting against miscarriages. It’s beneficial for treatment of polycystic ovaries and for shedding extra pounds. Moreover, it’s great for women who’ve just given birth, including those who recover from a difficult birth and for those who have a “loose” stomach.

It also helps with PMS and menopause

Lady’s mantle provides a number of benefits in relation to fibroids, cysts, and endometriosis. It relieves menstrual and menopausal symptoms, and the tannins it contains effectively alleviate heavy and painful periods and regulate the bleeding.

Lady’s mantle tea is highly beneficial for women who have painful and heavy menstruation owing to this herb’s high content of tannins and astringents, which normalize bleeding. When combined with the Shepherd’s Purse plant, lady’s mantle makes one of the most powerful remedies for all gynecological issues.

It destroys bacteria and viruses

Lady’s mantle’s bath, vaginal douches and tampons can effectively treat yeast, bacterial vaginitis and other vaginal infections. Simply soak your tampons in lady’s mantle’s solution and use them as pessaries.

A number of recent studies have found that lady’s mantle can fight staphylococcus bacteria, which can be highly resistant to antibiotics. In addition, Japanese scientists have found that agrimonin, a substance found in the plant, can even prevent breast cancer. Health experts suggest that it has potent antiviral properties too. This includes the human papilloma virus (HPV).

Other health benefits

Aside from the above-mentioned health benefits, Lady’s mantle also provides relief against bleeding, insect bites, nausea and vomiting, eczema and dermatitis, sore throat, mild diarrhea, especially in young children, gout and rheumatism, hemorrhoids, ulcers etc.

Lady’s Mantle Tea

Put 1 tsp. Lady’s mantle in a cup of boiling water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. Always drink it in sips, and drink a minimum of 2 cups per day.

Vaginal douching

Add 30-50g of dried herb (minus the root) in 1l water. Use this tea for vaginal douching or as an enema, if you have intestine problems.

Lady’s Mantle Bath

Boil 200 grams of dried or fresh Lady’s mantle in 3l water. Pour this into a water-filled tub. Soak for 10-20 minutes. Do the treatment before bedtime.

Important: Avoid consuming this tea if you have stomach, liver or gall bladder issues.
