This diet was developed by Hitoshi Watanabe who has studied preventative medicine and his wife Sumiko, pharmacist by profession.
The morning banana basic settings:
The default setting of the this diet is that the breakfast should contain only bananas and plain room temperature water can contribute to a significant reduction of pounds regardless of what you eat during the day.
As you can see, the diet is extremely simple and easy to follow and many Japanese have confirmed its validity: namely, in a large number there was significant weight loss when experimenting with this diet.
The answer why this diet is so good, is perhaps the fact that bananas encourages digestion and boost metabolism. Another possibility lies in the type of starch that bananas have, and which has a lower glycemic index, gives a feeling of satiety and partially blocks the absorption of carbohydrates.
No one is sure why the water must be at room temperature but there are several theories, of which the most common are that the water temperature improves digestion and reduces hunger.
People who wish to practice this diet are advised to have dinner before 8 pm and to avoid sweets after dinner. If you are very hungry it is acceptable to take a piece of fruit.
And the last rule with the diet, is to go to sleep before midnight. For this rule, and that almost needs no explanation because the scientific studies have shown a correlation between late going to bed and obesity.
Of course, if you want to fully comply with this diet you should stick to the rules and to eat as much as it is enough for you. You must not overeat. The Japanese even have a principle that advocates to be eaten until it reaches 80% of fullness (hmmm… although this is difficult to determine).
Prohibited foods are dairy products and alcohol. From drinks there is only room temperature water! And bananas must be raw and not roasted, cooked or frozen.
