Never Eat with Your Fingers? Read Why You Should Start!

Although eating with fingers is considered to be impolite and unhealthy, there is another positive side of it.

If you never eat without utensils even when you are at home, you should change that habit. In fact, researches have shown that in some situations it is healthier to consume the food just with your fingers. Here are a few examples:

Helps prevent type 2 diabetes

People who quickly consume their meals are more prone to diseases like type 2 diabetes. Since you will eat the food more quickly with utensils, it is recommendable to use your fingers occasionally. You will eat more slowly.

Improves digestion

Hand washing removes the bad bacteria and the good ones stay and end up in your body. They transmit information to your body about the temperature and texture of the food, all of which, experts say, improve digestion.

It prevents overeating and gaining weight.

If you eat with your fingers, you will have better control over how much you eat. In addition, those who use utensils during the meals and in the same are doing something else (surf the Internet, read newspapers, watch television or something else), they eat more than those who are occupied with their fingers while eating. When your fingers are stained with food, you will not take the newspaper or switch TV programs.
