Potato juice – what is it good for and the recipe for its preparation

October 31, 2022 by Valerie Kirwin

Many people are not familiar with the healing properties of raw potatoes. Raw potatoes are rich in many vitamins and minerals. It contains a lot of vitamins A, B and C, provitamin A (beta-carotene), and minerals: potassium, calcium, iron, manganese, then phosphorus and sulfur, as well as proteins and fibers. One medium-sized raw potato contains almost half of the recommended daily amount of vitamin C.

Raw potatoes are most often used in the form of juice for the treatment of gastritis, ulcers on the stomach and duodenum, arthritis, anemia, pain in the joints and back, as well as for speeding up metabolism and cleaning the skin of the face. It has a very wide range of effects, especially on the organs for digestion and the digestive system.

The juice is prepared from young and fresh potatoes. Red potatoes are recommended. Overripe potatoes are not a good choice for making juice, because they contain toxic substances that are harmful to the human body.

Unlike a large number of foods that are acidic, raw potatoes are alkaline and reduce the concentration of stomach acid, so they are successfully used in the treatment of gastritis. The advantage is that it destroys bacteria in the stomach that cannot become resistant to juice like antibiotics. To alleviate and suppress the symptoms of gastritis, drink half a glass of potato juice diluted with a little water half an hour before breakfast, lunch and dinner (on an empty stomach).

Potato juice is very effective against inflammatory processes, because it is rich in potassium, calcium and other minerals, so it is used to treat arthritis. Relieves headaches, pain in the joints and in the lumbar part of the back caused by arthritis. In order to eliminate the mentioned complaints, cut one slice of unpeeled potato and soak it in a glass of water and let it stand for 3 to 5 minutes, then drink it on an empty stomach before breakfast.

Potato juice is effective for treating anemia because it contains iron and folic acid in larger quantities, which especially stimulate the production of erythrocytes – red blood cells.

You can soak potato juice on a tuffer and or a cotton ball and dab it on your face to relieve irritation and rashes caused by allergic reactions. It is also used to remove acne and eczema.

Potato juice is also good for fighting cardiovascular diseases because it accelerates blood circulation and regulates high blood pressure. It also improves the body’s immunity and detoxifies it. To cleanse the liver and detoxify the body, drink a glass of freshly squeezed juice before breakfast.

Recipe for preparing potato juice

Before preparation, potatoes should be washed, peeled and cleaned well (remove all sprouts, green parts and black spots), wash them and let them drain. After that, grate it and put it in a linen cloth and strain it. You can also cut it into smaller pieces and blend it in a blender.

The juice is always freshly squeezed, and for those who do not like the taste of potatoes, they can add carrot, cucumber, parsley, celery, beet or apple. To strengthen immunity, drink one glass in the morning before breakfast. For more serious ailments, the recommended dose is two to three glasses a day, depending on the nature of the disease. For chronic fatigue and weakness, drink one glass each of potato, apple and beetroot juice in the morning and in the evening before meals.
