You may think they’re beneficial for your skin, but you couldn’t be more wrong…
Alcohol
Although numerous products for sensitive skin contain alcohol, experts say that people with problematic skin and clogged pores should avoid them as much as possible. Alcohol dries the skin resulting in strong secretion of sebum which leads to clogged pores.
Tip: For facial cleansing, use gentle products that don’t contain alcohol.
Coconut oil
Used by many women for skin and hair care, coconut oil is NOT recommended at all for problematic skin because it clogs the pores. It is better included in your diet as in this way it will help both your health and appearance.
Algae
Products containing algae have healing and gentle effects on the skin, but are nowhere near suitable for skin with pimples and clogged pores because they only worsen the situation. Read the label on the product you are buying and avoid products that contain “Ascophyllum” and “Ulva lactuca.”
