These are the Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

It is very important how you start the day. According to Indian philosophy of Ayurveda, the choice of your daily routines makes your body resistant or very disposed to diseases. According to Ayurveda, everyone needs to start the day focusing on morning rituals that will promote the harmony of the body’s natural rhythm, balancing the three elemental energies (air and space; fire and water and earth) and the strengthening of confidence and discipline.

These are the Benefits of Drinking Lemon Water

When you get up in the morning, you mind immediately tells you to check your e-mail, to take the dog for a walk or to speed up the preparations  for work, but no matter how limited the time for your daily morning rituals is, it would be good if you find time to add another small part in it. It certainly will affect the improvement of your health.

Start your day with a cup of hot (not boiling) water and add a half squeezed lemon.

Here are the benefits of this morning ritual:

1. It improves the immune system

Lemons are full of vitamin C and potassium. Vitamin C is excellent in fighting against colds, while potassium stimulates the brain and the nerves and helps in controlling the blood pressure.

2. It balances your pH value

Lemons are highly alkaline foods. They contain acids, but in our body they act alkaline (acid lime does not create acidity in the body when it is processed in the body). Alkaline body is crucial for good health.

3. It helps to reduce the weight

Lemons are full of pectin fibers, which help in reducing cramps caused by hunger. It has also been shown that people, who practice alkaline diet, lose weight faster.

4. Helps digestion

Warm water stimulates the gastro-intestinal tract and motility – waves caused by muscle contractions in the intestinal walls that allow the processes to take place. Lemons and limes have high amounts of minerals and vitamins that help in getting rid of toxins in the digestive tract.

5. Acts as a gentle natural diuretic

Lemon juice helps in the excretion of unnecessary substances in a way it stimulates frequent urination. Toxins thus faster and more often are discharged from the body and the urinary tract maintains healthy.

6. It cleans the skin

Vitamin C helps in reducing wrinkles and stains on the skin. Lemon water throws out toxins from the blood and thus keeps the skin clean.

7. It hydrates the lymphatic system

Once you start the day with hydration, you prevent the dehydration of the body and adrenal fatigue. When the body is dehydrated it can’t properly perform all its functions, which leads to increased toxin level, occurrence of stress, constipation, etc.

Adrenal glands are located on top of your kidneys and together with the thyroid generate power. They also secrete important hormones such as aldosterone. This hormone regulates the level of water in the body and the concentration of minerals such as sodium, which helps you to remain hydrated. The adrenal glands also help in regulating stress.

If you start drinking this useful potion, after a month your morning experience will look completely different and will entirely change your day.
