Many people enjoy a glass of red wine after a long day. And this is not a bad habit as the red wine has numerous health benefits. But you may not be aware that it can help with the weight loss process!

How Red Wine Can Help You Lose Weight

Many studies are conveyed on how the red wine can help with the weight loss and they have shown that it really helps.

A study conveyed at Harvard University tracked a group of 20,000 women for 13 years and it was shown that women who were drinking two glasses of wine every day were less obese.

The Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry also conveyed a study on mice. They were given red wine grape extract after which the mice accumulated less fat and had lower blood sugar level.  The acids in the grape are responsible for slowing down and delaying the growth of fat cells.

Red Wine as a Snack

Some people replaced their favorite evening snacks with red wine. A glass of red wine has less calories than cake, ice- cream and chips.

Linda Monk lost 6 pounds in 3 weeks with this strategy. She claims that red wine has helped her against sugar cravings and she has stopped consuming unhealthy snacks before going to bed.

Added Red Wine Health Benefits

There are many other beneficial properties of red wine especially resveratrol which is found in the red wine.

Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant and is proven to be quite effective against certain types of cancer. It also maintains your heart healthy as well as prevents Alzheimer’s.

Resveratrol has also been linked to longer life spans and  improved athletic abilities.

Cause for Concern

It is very important to remember that although red wine is healthy it doesn’t mean that you should drink a whole bottle before going to bed.

Remember also that red wine should replace the snacks, do not drink it with snacks. If you drink a glass of wine with a cake, you will gain more weight.

Avoid drinking it late in the evening as some people may have poorer quality sleep and drowsiness in the morning. But every organism is different and you should decide what is good for you.
