According to a recent lawsuit filed against Nestlé Purina, it is claimed that their most popular dog food, Beneful, contains dangerous ingredients responsible for the deaths of thousands of dogs!
The lawsuit was filed at the Federal Court in California by Frank Lucido who claims that thousands of dogs have died as a result of consuming Beneful – dry dog food.
Lucida family had three dogs that didn’t have health problems until they began to feed them with Beneful.
At that time the family was renovating their home, so the three dogs were kept separately until the end of the renovation. Dogs became ill after consumption of this food, and one of them died.
Since they were living in three separate houses, Lucido concluded that there is one common cause for their illness- their food!
To confirm his suspicions, he required an autopsy on the dead dog and it was revealed that it suffered from severe internal bleeding in the abdomen.
It was also found that there were large lesions of the liver.
Another person Virginia Burgardt also claims that this popular dog food is responsible for her dog’s disease.
After consuming it for a few months her dog started to have symptoms as vomiting, diarrhea and weight loss.
These symptoms have been reported among thousands of other individual cases that have been fed with Beneful.
