When Should You Take a Shower – in the Morning or in the Evening?

Regular showering is one of the most important hygiene habits. However, experts say that there is a difference between showering at night or in the morning.

We should take a shower every day, but experts warn that showering every day with soap or shower gel can dry the skin, so you should use such shower products occasionally, and to take shower with plain water only.

But when should we take a shower? Habits related to showering are often different in various cultures. Thus, in Asia people usually take a shower at night, while in the US in the morning.

Which is better? Experts point out the advantages of both habits related to showering. Here they are:

Benefits of morning shower

Showering in the morning is better for people with oily skin, because during the night sweating the skin secretes sebum, so it stays on skin during the day and can cause clogged pores. Morning shower improves the circulation, speeds up the heart rate and relaxes the muscles and is also a great way to reduce the neck stiffness or back pain so you could start the day with more enthusiasm. In addition, the morning shower will wake you up better than the coffee.

Benefits of taking shower at night

Showering in the evening is the perfect medicine against insomnia because it acts calming and signals the body to start with the secretion of melatonin, a hormone that helps in falling asleep. Also, showering at night lowers the blood pressure and reduces stress and is a great way to relax after a busy working day or exercising.

Another good thing when it comes to showering in the evening is that the sheets on which you sleep will stay clean longer. Even if you consider yourself clean, dead cells accumulate on the skin, so it is good to take a shower before going to bed, in order to prevent them from penetrating through the pores while sleeping.
